Monica King Contemporary is pleased to present With an Abundance of Caution, a solo exhibition of work by Juan Logan. Through these works, Logan explores our inability to retain all of the details of the experiences of our daily lives; particularly the memories that are deemed important. The large head paintings, which are in the same Elegy series as the other works in the exhibition, similarly contemplate memory yet in a monumental scale. Logan describes the phenomenon of memory retention or lack therof as existing in two worlds, today and everything else from yesterday and the day before and the day before that. This sentiment seems particularly apt for these uncertain times during which our relationship to time, and subsequently recollection, has been significantly altered.
